Finnish iGaming Event and Northern Europe Gaming Conference
We produce the Finnish iGaming Event, also known as the Finnish iGaming Conference: Finland's only international gambling conference, held in Helsinki since 2022. From 2027 it continues as the Northern Europe Gaming Conference at Messukeskus Solar on 16–17 September 2027, still produced by Sandstorm Events. Programme and tickets: finnishigamingevents.fi.

When does the Finnish gambling market open?
Licensed betting, online slot and casino games and online money bingo can start on 1 July 2027. Until the end of June 2027, Veikkaus has the exclusive right to offer and market gambling in Finland. After the reform, Veikkaus keeps its monopoly on lotteries, scratch cards and physical slot machines and casino games.
How do you apply for a gambling licence in Finland?
Applications are submitted to the National Police Board, which has accepted them since March 2026. Applications are made in Finnish or Swedish, and the target processing time is about six months. From July 2027, licensing moves to the Finnish Supervisory Agency. We do not file licence applications, but we can help you find the right local specialists.
Can we market gambling in Finland before July 2027?
No. Until the end of June 2027, only Veikkaus may run or market gambling games in Finland. After that, licence holders may market their services within the limits of the Act. Partnerships and plans can still be prepared now, for example agreements that start once the licence is in force.

What is the Finnish iGaming Event?
The Finnish iGaming Event is Finland's only international gambling conference, held in Helsinki and in English. Sandstorm Events produces the conference and handles its partnerships. It brings together operators, authorities, suppliers and service providers from Finland and abroad. From 2027, it continues as the Northern Europe Gaming Conference at Messukeskus Solar in Helsinki.
How do you work and price your services?
We work in English or Finnish under a written agreement, with agreed metrics and reporting. Work is priced per project, and we can also act as your local partner on an ongoing basis.
